Reflections on the Origin Story of Global Leadership Academy (GLA)

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” – Edmund Burke

One of the great privileges of my life was the (small) role I played in the inception and development of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO)’s Global Leadership Academy (GLA). We were not entirely aware at the time, but I, along with a small group of remarkable individuals, ended up contributing to the development of one the world’s greatest leadership programs.

Much of it comes down to one of the foundational figures within the EO landscape: Warren Rustand. A man I have much respect and admiration for.

Warren recognized one clear thing early on his life: the world had a remarkable thirst and deep need for better leaders. In what Warren calls the continuous act of “humans becoming,” Warren saw the potential for more humans that were becoming the leaders the world needed them to be.

The story of the founding of Global Leadership Academy is an incredible one – and one I am simultaneously proud of and humbled by.

I contributed the full article for the Global Blog of Entrepreneurs’ Organization – find it here. If you know a remarkable leader in EO who has not yet had the privilege of attending one of these Academies, send them this link today. It is certain to be transformational.
